Celebrating the 2016 title-rights sponsorship of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, DENSO spark plugs powered two winning Pro Stock and one winning Super Comp drivers across the finish line at the 17th annual DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals. An estimated 18,000 fans filled the venue both Saturday and Sunday to witness the action-packed drag races, held in early April.

After multiple qualifying and elimination rounds, Jason Line raced his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro to victory by covering the 1,000-foot strip in 6.712 seconds at 206.32 mph in Sunday’s final.

Also racing on DENSO spark plugs, Summit teammate Greg Anderson reached the last Pro Stock elimination round Sunday in his Chevy Camaro, ending his streak in 6.755 seconds at 205.88 mph for an overall third place finish.


KB Racing Team - Jason Line Winning Streak

On a roll, KB Racing nailed its fourth consecutive win in 2016 at the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with Jason Line taking his second win of the season. Line continued to dominate the Pro Stock world during the 4Wide Nationals at the zMax Dragway when he claimed his third win in 2016, and the fifth consecutive win for the entire KB Racing team. Greg Anderson, with his third win of 2016 at the NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston brought the team a celebrated sixth consecutive win. With the KB Racing team running DENSO Spark Plugs in their collective winning streak, who knows how far they’ll go in 2016?

DENSO Announces Title Sponsorship of 2016 NHRA Nationals

DENSO also sponsors the entire 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series

DENSO has joined the National Hot Rod Association as the title rights sponsor of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. The 17th annual DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals will be held April 1-3 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals is the fourth of 24 races in the upcoming NHRA Mello Yello Series. DENSO is also a supporting sponsor for the full season, with weekend races kicking off Feb. 11 and extending through November in 19 states across the country. “Major auto races like the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series showcase the best vehicles and technology our industry has to offer,” said Larry Fidance, marketing manager at DENSO Products and Services Americas. “It’s a perfect fit for DENSO.
